Join the Governance Advisory Committee
We’re inviting expressions of interest to join the new Governance Advisory Committee for the Rivergate Centre — a chance to help shape its future as a vital and inclusive community hub. This centre is already a hub for many great and committed local organisations, parties, and activities. We believe there is huge potential for much more and the best way to unlock this is to work together.
Since becoming Operators in August 2024, we’ve aimed to lead collaboratively and transparently. This new committee will be a key vehicle for this, bringing together Centre users, residents, businesses, and stakeholders to help guide its direction and sustainability.
Key Details
Who we’re looking for: People representing regular and new users, community groups, faith organizations, businesses, and local residents who care about this community and the Rivergate.
Purpose of the Committee:
Increase access and inclusion
Shape policies, programming, and practices
Support financial sustainability (e.g. input on rates, business planning)
Input into refurbishment plans
Help shape a future permanent governance structure
Commitment:
One 90-minute meeting per month
Proposed schedule: First Thursday of the month, 5–6:30pm (open to change to suit members)
Initial term: 12 months (with a review after 6 months)
Start Date: June 2025

Inclusion on this initial committee will be by invitation from the Operators. Expressions of Interest may be followed up with a conversation to discuss involvement. Depending on level of interest, members will be invited based on the following criteria: breadth of representation; availability; and capacity to support the committee’s objectives.
